How I came to write the guide: The hype of Forza 5 / GT 6 made me look for a similar game on PC (on the sim-side racing physics and huge selection and variety of licensed cars and tracks) and Shift 2 was the perfect candidate. Early issues like 'input lag' and 'floaty car handling' were annihilated by the community who's modders have gone great lengths to make sure all of the core bugs were fixed, features expanded and experience enriched. My time invested in writing this guide is NOTHING compared to them.

I hereby bow to them. Note: 'Input lag' occurs if you have low FPS. Some optional mods I provided should help out. Even though installing mods is very easy, you can often only effectively use one mod at a time because mods cancel each other out. In my guide, I have made sure they don't. I went as far as comparing text lines of files that overwrite.

The guide is meant to be installed 'as is', without applying any other mods later because they WILL screw up the Shift 2 mod configuration. It is crucial that you follow this guide step by step. Missing to install a mod (other than the steps that are labeled 'optional') will render your whole effort useless. I mean no disrespect to many modders which mods I did not choose, there were just too many. I did this guide for myself first, and decided to share it afterwards.

I will probably keep updating this guide as I find ways to integrate more mods into it. X gain controls the steering sensitivity.

I suggest settings from 55 to 75. These are my own: Configuring Shift2: For configuring Shift 2 with Mouse steering and/or Mouse throttle & braking, select any of the wheels with 'Combined pedals'. I use 'Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 Combined pedals' profile with these settings: I control steering, throttle and brake with my mouse, but it can prove to be difficult for some people.
