Depending on age of hardware there may not be new drivers and you have to make a decision, do I update my hardware or stay on the version of windows that hardware supports. My last PC was 9 years old, and without even thinking about driver support, I just knew it was getting too old for any new version of Windows. Computers aren't designed to last forever, if you can get more than 6 or more years out of one, you going well. Sure, people running linux can make computers run for decades but they not the normal situation,l and honestly i like faster computers, using a 15 year old computer now would do my head in.
